On one of our recent Friday prayer broadcasts, a viewer requested prayer for a “Lazarus resurrection miracle” for her marriage. 

It’s important to learn how to pray over your marriage. First of all, understand that your marriage is a covenant with God and that covenant is not dead. That covenant is still established with God.

The enemy wants to come in and cause distractions. He may have a legal right to have curses come against your marriage. What would give the enemy a legal right to bring curses or distractions into your marriage? Sin. If you or your husband have sinned or there’s sin on your family bloodline it can bring a curse against the marriage. 

The biggest sin that comes against marriages is sexual sin and adultery, either with you or somebody on the family bloodline. If there’s somebody on your or your husband’s family bloodline, and I mean going all the way back to Adam and Eve, that did sins against the marriage – adultery, pornography, anything like that – it can bring a curse against the marriage, so your marriage is not dead. The covenant is still there with God. 

What you need to do is get that covenant completely healed and cleansed in the blood of Jesus. Any sin has to be repented for so that there’s no legal right of the demonic to attack your marriage. First of all, you need to change the way you’re looking at it. You need to look at it the way God looks at your marriage – that it’s a covenant with God and is still alive.

Pray Out Loud

Heavenly Father, Father God, I come before You in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and I place my covenant marriage to my spouse, _______, in the blood of Jesus Christ. I ask you, Lord Jesus, to release the power of Your blood into my marriage, into our covenant, and cleanse it, sanctify it, and make it holy back to God.

Father God, I stand before You today and repent for myself and anybody in my family bloodline going all the way back to Adam and Eve that sinned against the covenant of marriage and sinned against You, God. I repent for any sexual sin. I repent for any adultery in myself or anybody in my bloodline. I repent for any pornography in myself and in my family bloodline. I repent for any sins of causing anyone harm in their marriage, either myself or anybody in my family line. 

I also come before you and stand in the gap for my husband/wife because we are one flesh, and I repent for any sins he/she has done or anyone in his/her family bloodline, going all the way back to Adam and Eve – any sins of adultery, any sexual sins, any pornography, any sins against marriage, and any sins against anybody else’s marriage. I repent for all of it for myself, my husband/wife and our family lines.

King Jesus, if there’s any sin that I don’t know of, either on me or my husband/wife or on our marriage or on our bloodlines, I ask You right now to reveal it to the Father, and I repent for all of it. I stand before you right now, Father God, in the name of Jesus, with a humble heart, and I repent of and confess all of these sins. I ask You, Lord Jesus Christ, to cover all these sins with Your blood. I ask that these sins be erased as far as the east is from the west and remembered no more for my sake, the sake of my marriage, for the sake of my husband/wife and our bloodlines, and for Your sake, Father God, and I ask You to release us from any consequences of these sins. 

I ask You, Father God, to release our marriage and our marriage covenant from any consequences of these sins, by the blood of Jesus Christ, so that our marriage covenant will now be in good standing with You, Father God, cleansed, sanctified, and made holy by the blood of Jesus Christ, and that our marriage will now be alive, healed, whole, shalem shalom – nothing missing, nothing lacking, nothing broken and redeemed by the blood of Jesus so that your purpose for our marriage, Father God, comes forth activated, and nothing can come against it.

Father God, if there are any curses or demonic assignments that the enemy, Satan – the accuser – has been using against my marriage, the blood of Jesus Christ is now on those sins. There’s no longer a cause for a curse, so those curses are canceled and those demons fired because it is written, “A curse causeless cannot alight.” 

Father God, now that all the curses are removed by the blood of Jesus, any demons or demonic assignments coming against my marriage or my marriage covenant, I stand right now before You, Father God, in humble faith on behalf of myself, my husband/wife, and our family line, and I renounce, cancel, and annul any unholy, ungodly covenants that me or my husband/wife  or our family line ever were in, any unholy, ungodly covenants that are coming against our true covenant of marriage. Those unholy, ungodly covenants are now annulled, renounced, removed, and washed by the blood of Jesus.

I renounce any soul ties that I have with any former boyfriends/girlfriends and sever those off. I renounce any soul ties my husband/wife has with any former boyfriends/girlfriends and cancel those off, and, again, I place me and my husband/wife and our soul tie and our covenant in the blood of Jesus, made holy, healed, sanctified, cleansed, redeemed, and  made perfect by the blood of Jesus Christ.

Father God, You say Your marriage is a masterpiece, that Adam needed a helper, and You created Eve out of his rib. Therefore, me and my husband/wife, _______, are one flesh. I/she am/is his/my helper, and my husband/I loves me/my wife as Christ loves the Church. Now, my husband/wife, _______, and I are like Jesus and His Church – spotless, sparkling, gleaming – a bride and groom made whole and renewed. 

I decree and declare right here before You, Father God, and believe by faith that my marriage and my marriage covenant with my husband/wife, _______, has been made new and even better than before and that You will bless it, Father God. I will see Your glory in my marriage now and forever, in Jesus Christ’s name! Amen and so be it now!

Prophetic Act of Faith

You can do a prophetic act of faith to accelerate this prayer. Take Communion and leave a little bit of the grape juice in your cup. Put your wedding rings in the remaining grape juice, and leave them in there for 24 hours. If you can get a hold of your husband’s/wife’s wedding rings, put them in with yours. If not, just just ask the Holy Spirit to saturate your covenant rings and your husband’s/wife’s covenant rings.

This is a prophetic act of faith to sanctify your marriage in the blood of Jesus Christ. You’re asking the blood of Jesus to go and sanctify, cleanse, and soak right into your marriage covenant after you’ve done this prayer. 

I’ve done this for Mike and I, and it’s just been incredible. You can also take a little of the Communion and sprinkle your marriage bed – all four corners – to sanctify and redeem it. 

Another prophetic act of faith is to believe that you and your husband/wife are going to renew your marriage vows. You could even create a little vision board and put pics of the wedding dress and suit that y’all will wear.

It’s also very important to change the way you speak over your marriage. You need to prophesy over it, and no matter what you see happening in the natural, you need to prophesy and say things like, “My husband/wife, _______, and I are rich in experiences together. We are so blessed. We love to do things together. We love to read the Bible together. We love to pray together. We love to cook together. We love to build together. We love to clean together.” 

Start making a list of those prophetic decrees and have them on a piece of paper or have them loaded in your phone and just pull them up every day. Speak them every single day over you and your marriage. You are the prophet of your own marriage. You are the prophet of your own household, so start acting like it, and cancel every negative word that you have ever spoken over your marriage. Renounce it. Come out of agreement with it, and no matter what you see in the natural, it doesn’t matter.

Then pray the prayer to send the Holy Spirit to your husband/wife on my website. The Holy Spirit is your helper. He’s your friend. Just like you would send a friend to go talk to a friend, you can send the Holy Spirit, your helper, to go talk to your husband/wife. He’s waiting for you to ask Him.

Say, “Holy Spirit,my helper, my friend, go to my husband/wife, _______, and show /her what you’ve shown me. Bring him/her into the will and the word of God for his/her life and for our marriage, in Jesus Christ’s name.” Then watch and see. Pray that every day, and watch what the Holy Spirit does. He’ll do it. I’m living proof.

 Do you know when I started this ministry back in 2016,2017, my husband thought I was nuts. He thought I was crazy. He wasn’t speaking to me for a long time, over a year. He was so mad because I had given up an $8,000-a-month business coaching NASCAR drivers. I just gave it away because God told me to do that and start this ministry. My husband thought it was crazy, and he was angry. I only had the Holy Spirit to rely on, that’s it. I was fasting and praying, and the Holy Spirit said, “Get up, Annamarie. You do what I’ve called you to do with this ministry, and ask me to talk to your husband, and watch what I do.”

That’s how the Holy Spirit prayer was birthed, “Holy Spirit, my helper and my friend, I ask you to go to my husband, and show him what You’ve shown me. Give him understanding, and bring him into the will and the word of God for his life. Bring our marriage into the will and the word of God for our marriage. Bring him fully beside me in this ministry like only You can do, Holy Spirit.”

The Holy Spirit can do a lot more in one day than you could do in a year. Once I learned how to pray like that, oh, my goodness, He did it! My husband now is 100% beside me in this ministry. He’s even a part of this ministry. He handles all the finances now. He goes and prays for people. He’s even started his own where he hands out my little prayer cards to everybody. He loves it, and our marriage is better than ever. He’s fully 100% beside me. He prays with me. He helped me build a studio. His desk is right beside my desk. God completely renovated our bedroom into the most beautiful bedroom you ever could see and paid for it. We tell each other, “I love you,” every morning. He opens up the door to my studio every morning to make sure it warms up before I get in here.

Before, if I tried to pray or tried to talk to him about anything with the ministry, he would walk away from me. He would get angry with me. You see, I did all my work in my prayer closet. You know why I did it? Because I trusted in God, in the power of the blood of Jesus, the power of repentance, and the power of the work of the Holy Spirit, so do what I’m telling you to do, my friends, and allow God to work in your marriage. Check your mouth. Be careful what you say, and only prophesy blessings and pray the prayer above. God is going to do it!

We should never ever try to bind powers and principalities of the air because they have a legal right to operate in an area if there is unrepented sin. The demonic powers and principalities of the air get to operate over schools, regions, states, or a government because they are demonic kings that have demonic strongholds over those areas because of sin in the region. The more sin there is in the region, the more legal right they have to operate there.

If you just go in and start binding them, you will get major pushback and attacks because they actually have a legal right to operate there because the blood of Jesus Christ is not on the sin. They lose their legal rights when we go and stand in those regions, stand in those areas, repent, and get the blood of Jesus Christ into the land. They then lose their legal rights to operate there because we are boots on the ground for Jesus. He told us to go and occupy for Him, and He told us to take territory on the earth, to trample on serpents and scorpions. 

The more we go and repent on the land and the water, the more those demonic powers and principalities lose their legal rights and have to leave. The problem is they don’t leave without a fight. You can’t bind those principalities. Your job is to repent over the land, the water, and the gates and get the blood of Jesus Christ in there. Then we ask Father God to come in with His angel armies and take dominion of those gates, over those regions, to come and take dominion over those powers and principalities because there’s no legal right for them to remain anymore because the sin has been repented for. 

So remember to never ever try to come against powers or principalities or storms or hurricanes because there is spiritual warfare happening over those areas. Jesus took authority over the storms, but we can only take authority over places after we have made sure that we have repented. 

We do carry the authority of Jesus Christ, and we are seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. It’s His authority that does this. But remember when Daniel was in Babylon, and He was waiting a long time to get His prayer answered. Babylon was a very sinful place, so Daniel did an evening sacrifice and shed the blood of the lamb. 

That evening, Archangel Gabriel returned to him and told him that he would have been there sooner, but it took him 21 days to fight his way through because the demonic powers, principalities, and strongholds that were ruled by a demonic king, called the Prince of Persia, were so bad and so strong because of the sin in Babylon that he, Archangel Gabriel, a powerful angel who stands in the presence of God, had to call upon Archangel Michael to help him and fight him through. 

This is why you can’t do it! You’ll get your butt whooped if you try! It has to be the angels of the Lord that do this after we pray, after we repent, after we ask, in the name of Jesus Christ, for Father God to send his angel armies in to deal with it.

Even if man is doing things to the storms and hurricanes through weather manipulation to make them bigger, more violent, and more damaging, it’s still demonic! Those people are unrepentant of their sin and are being ruled by demonic powers – demons. So there are two things operating here – the spiritual factor and the man of sins factor. Both are rooted in demonic powers and principalities that are getting energized by the sin.

The more we repent, the more we take Communion, the more we pour the blood of Jesus on the ground, the more we ask Father God to send in His angel armies to deal with it, in the name of Jesus, you’re going to see a difference. 

So our job is to repent and get the blood of Jesus in those areas so they lose their legal right! Then we have to trust in God. We have to trust in His Word, and we have to keep proclaiming His Word. 

We’re taking dominion right now on earth through King Jesus and through doing these land assignments and the blood of Jesus. Once we do that, the enemy has lost its legal right to operate there because repentance and the blood of Jesus causes the curse to lose its cause and the demons and the people led by the demons to lose their legal right to operate there.

Nobody is too far away from God. Jesus is praying for them all the time and we must also. We must come into agreement with Jesus’ intercession for our loved ones. Never say they are completely lost. Continue to pray for their salvation.

When we pray for athletes, we need to look at them the way Paul spoke about it in God’s word. We are to run this race strong. Remember that Paul spent a lot of time in Greece where the Olympics were. There were a lot of sports and competitions there. It was a big thing in Greece, so Paul used that in his teaching a lot as metaphors and to help us understand how the kingdom of God works.

I believe very strongly that the reason God raises someone up on sports is because He wants to use their spotlight. In other words, if God gives someone a talent for sports, it’s for His glory. This goes back to what Paul said that we are to run our race strong, and throw off all encumberments – anything that weighs us down – so that we can be victorious in our purpose for the Lord. 

If you have a child or other loved one who is especially talented in sports, pray the following prayer over them so that they will use their gifts and talents for the kingdom of God and be victorious in their purpose for the Lord, all for the glory of God.

  • “Father God, I ask You to anoint _______, that they would play (name of sport) in such a way that the world has never seen before, all for Your glory. Help them to use the talent for (name of sport) that You have put in them, Lord, and raise them up to be the best at what they do in (name of sport) like the world has never seen before, all for Your glory and Your kingdom. 


  • Father God, I ask for you to remove anything right now that’s weighing them down, holding them back, or encumbering them from being the best at this for Your glory, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and I ask You to pour a fresh anointing of Your Holy Spirit on them to play (name of sport) and use it for Your glory and to shine Jesus when they do this. 


  • I ask for You to continue to bless them and raise them up, not just in talent and victories, Father God, but in the anointing of the Holy Spirit that flows to them. I ask you to raise them up like you have so many other athletes to be quarterbacks, pitchers, runners in the Olympics, and jockeys on racehorses, and You have given them the victory and the spotlight so that they can give You glory and point to Jesus Christ. 


  • I ask you to do the same thing for, _______, all through the power of Your Holy Spirit working through _______ and every athlete that You have called because it gives You pleasure, Father God. It gives You pleasure to see them using their gifts for Your glory just like in the movie, Chariots of Fire – the Olympic runner in the 1920s who wanted to serve You, Father God. He thought in order to serve You, He had to be a missionary to China, but You made him fast, and He said these words, “God made me fast because it gives Him pleasure!” He pointed to Jesus Christ and to You, Father God, all through the Olympics, and he won the gold medal. Why? Because He pointed to You, God. 


  • I ask You to do the same thing for _______, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Father God, You say that the competition is irrelevant. It’s not about the competition; it’s about the anointing that is upon _______, and _______ doesn’t even think about the competition. He/she is (running, playing ball, etc.) because it pleases You, Father God. He/she is being a team leader because it pleases God and because of the anointing of the Holy Spirit, so the competition is irrelevant. 

 

  • I invite You, Holy Spirit, to go to _______ and reveal this to him/her and train him/her up in this. Put a right spirit within him/her so he/she doesn’t look at the competition. It’ll be irrelevant to him/her now. His/Her focus will just be on what he/she is doing to please the Lord by using his/her gifts, and I ask You to give him/her a fresh anointing and remove any distractions and anything in his/her life that would try to come against this. Give his/her parents, grandparents, teammates, and coaches wisdom, all for the kingdom and glory of God. God of our Lord Jesus Christ, Father of glory, please give me, my loved one, _______, and those around _______ the spirit of wisdom and understanding in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, the hope of His calling and His glory, in Jesus Christ’s name we pray. Amen.”

Pray Out Loud

  • “Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, I lift (myself/ _______) up to You, and I place (myself/him/her) in the blood of Jesus Christ. Lord Jesus, release the power of Your blood over (my/_______’s) mind, body, soul, and spirit. Father God, I ask, in the name of Jesus Christ, that You would send Your ministering angels to (me/_______) right now, – the same angels that ministered to our Lord in the garden – to minister to (me/him/her), to strengthen (me/him/her), and to pull off any arrows, daggers, knives, spikes – anything of the enemy. Remove all heaviness from (me/him/her). Remove every yoke of grief off of (me/him/her). 

 

  • Holy Spirit, I invite You and give You permission for a fresh anointing right now, for it is written, “The anointing breaks the yoke.” I command every yoke of grief to come off of (me/_______) now. The Bible says that we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses in Hebrews Chapter 12. Those are our loved ones that have gone before us and that are believers in Jesus Christ, and our children are taken right to Heaven. They’re in our cloud of witnesses. They are witnessing to your life. They’re witnessing to the prayers of Jesus Christ for you so that you will fulfill your purpose for the Lord, and so Jesus doesn’t want the grief to hold you back. He wants you to keep moving forward doing what He’s called you to do and even doing it in a way that you know your loved one is cheering you on now because it says the great cloud of witnesses is cheering you on to the victory, and you’re going to finish this race strong now. You’re going to finish this race strong! Your loved one is cheering you on from Heaven. 

I say this with love because I understand, but if we stay in grief too long, it keeps us from fulfilling our purpose for Jesus, and you don’t want the enemy to keep you in grief too long. How do we get this grief off of us? We’ve got to put it on the cross. 

Put Your Hands On Your Heart And Pray This Out Loud

  • “King Jesus, I invite you to step into this moment of time and redeem (me/_______). Redeem (my/his/her) mind, will, emotions. Redeem (my/his/her) heart. Redeem (my/his/her) soul, and be made manifest in it with Your glory light, Your joy, Your peace, Your shalom, and right now, I grab ahold of this grief that is in (my/_______’s) heart and in (my/his/her) soul, and I grab it off of (me/him/her) and place it on Your Cross, Jesus, and release it to You, Lord, in Jesus Christ’s name.”

Release it to Him. Release it off your soul. Release it off your spirit. Release that grief off your memories, and off of your cells. It’s on the Cross of Jesus now.

Now Hold Out Your Hands And Declare Out Loud 

  • “King Jesus, thank you for taking (my/_______’s) grief upon You, and now (I/_______) receive(s) of the joy of the Lord upon (me/him/her). (I/_______) receive(s) of the healing of the Lord upon (me/him/her). (I/_______) receive(s) a brand new healed heart. (My/His/Her) soul is healed and exalts the Lord. (I/He/She) think(s) on the joyous memories, in Jesus Christ’s name.”

Just receive of the joy of the Lord. Receive of the peace of the Lord. 

Declare Out Loud

  • “Lord, Your Word says that You are the Son of Righteousness that comes with healing in His wings, in His beams, and (I/_______) have/has so much joy. (I’m/He’s/She’s) like a calf released from the stall in a pasture, so I decree and declare that the Son of Righteousness has come upon (me/_______) with healing in His wings and in His beam. I pray this all in Jesus Christ’s name.”

Receive that healing light into your heart and into your soul. Receive of the joy of the Lord. You shall go forth in joy like a calf let out from the stall, jumping and leaping and singing for joy because the Son of Righteousness – King Jesus – has you.

Your loved one’s memory is a blessing. You focus on the good memories. They are cheering you on right now, and Jesus has taken this heaviness off of you. He’s taken this burden off of you because it’s time for you to go forward in your purpose.
