Prayer To Ask Father God To Reveal His Heart and Purpose (Calling) For You (A Personal Conversation with God)

Before You Begin

Find a quiet place and sit comfortably in a chair. As you prepare to pray, turn to your left and picture Father God right there with you.

According to Ephesians 2:6, God has “raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” And Ephesians 1:20 tells us that Christ is seated at the right hand of Father God.

Because you are in Christ Jesus, you have access to Father God through Him. You can come boldly before His throne of grace, knowing that He hears you and that you can talk to Him personally.

As you turn to your left, begin talking to Father God from your heart. Imagine yourself there with Him in Christ Jesus and pray:

Prayer – (speak directly to your Father God from your heart by faith)

Father God, thank You that I am seated with You in heavenly places because of Your Son, Jesus Christ. Thank You that because of Jesus, I can come boldly into Your presence and talk with You.

I love You so much, Father God. I am Your child, and I have some questions for You.

Father God, tell me more about who I am.

Why did You create me? What did You create me to be? What did You create me to do?

How do You see me, Father God? What do You say about me? When You look at me, what do You see?

Father, I want to see what You see in me. This is the desire of my heart. I want to see myself through Your eyes and understand exactly who You created me to be.

Show me my next steps. Reveal the gifts You have placed inside of me and the calling You have placed upon my life. Show me where You want me to go and what You want me to do.

Father, position me exactly where You want me to be. Help me to be brave and bold and to step into everything You have called me to do without fear.

Father, I want to fulfill everything You created me to fulfill because one day I want to hear You say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” I know You desire that for me too, so Father, I need Your help.

I am in faithful expectation!

Father God, give me dreams and visions. Send divine laborers and even angels unawares across my path. Give me ideas that suddenly drop into my spirit and extraordinary opportunities that could only come from You.

Father God, I want to hear Your voice loud and clear. If I don’t hear You or I’m not paying attention, please tell me again! Keep speaking to me until I understand, stop, and listen.

Father, if I have missed an opportunity that You brought to me, I ask You for grace. Would You bring that opportunity around again? And when You do, please clearly show me and confirm to me that it is from You and that it is for me.

Thank You, Father.

I love You so much. Thank You for being my Father. Thank You for Your Son, Jesus Christ, who made the way for me to come into Your presence.

Father, I’m so grateful that I can have these conversations with You. I am going to keep talking to You, and I trust that You will continue speaking to me and guiding me.

Your Word says that You will never leave me nor forsake me, so I know that I am never alone.

Father God, I love You.

Thank You for loving me. Thank You for being with me. Thank You for showing me who You created me to be and leading me into everything You have prepared for my life.

I am ready to listen. I am ready to follow You. I am ready to step boldly into my Kingdom purpose and calling.
